Fire monitoring over Chernobyl

A large forest fire burned in the Exclusion Zone near the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, Ukraine as of 9 of April 2020.

this fire was captured in real time by one of the satellites of the Planetscope constellation last 9 april 2020 at 10:30.

Thanks to the constellation 100 3m resolution Planet satellites, along with the constellation 15 80cm resolution Skysat satellites, we are in a position to monitor all emergencies worldwide in almost real time (1 a 2 passed per day). We can monitor major catastrophes like forest fires, floods (landslides), volcanic explosions, mass removals, earthquake damage, tsunami, storms... In the case of fires we can have images before (for risk prevention, for expertise of the time of occurrence), during (for monitoring and control) and after the fire (for assessing the magnitude of the damage). Planet satellites are key to monitoring vulnerable regions like this. If you are interested you can quote us Planetscope images, Skysat or any other sensor through ourContact Form.
